We are looking into an "action committee” where we ask community members how to turn our ideas into actions.
Patricia Lee King
57:31
We've started regional community meetings by perinatal region this year where 3 patient or community panelists share their input on hospital implementation of key QI strategies. I think in a year, we'd like to create a toolkit for hospitals to host a hospital community meeting and a "database" of resources to help hospitals connect with patients and community.

Just a question - Has anyone been providing social work/mental health support for the families engaged in the work? The question of how much we should be asking of families and how much support we should be giving comes up often. It can be so heavy to continually be sharing - how do other folks support their families?
Brace Gibson
01:04:21
Our FIRST Program includes providers and patients. We do have a mental health provider in our current cohort and we have transparent conversations with our participants.
Eleni Tsigas
01:04:31
This why patient family partner READINESS is so important. This is why @MoMMAsVoices training includes steps that the patients are prepared to do this work.
Emily Taylor
01:05:57
For anyone that is PFP certified through MV, they are supported before, during and after the engagement by our coordinator. Also receives surveys to make sure the opportunity was meaningful and checking to see if they want to continue the work

Also - in Colorado we have meetings as a cohort to touch base and feel supported outside of the programs we have chosen to get involved in. I think having that space to reflect and ask questions has been really helpful.
